Girls, Girls, Girls :)

Motley Crue was formed in 1981 by their bass guitarist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, who later were joined by Mick Mars and Vince Neil. Since then, the band has gone on to sell more than 80 million records worldwide. All four members have had their own problems with the law, alcohol, and drugs; most famously heroin and cocaine. When the band first began, Nikki Sixx was in a band called London and began working out a project with Tommy Lee and another guitarist, with whom Tommy had worked with in the band Suite 19. Nikki and Tommy then met Mick Mars one night while illegally buying alcohol. After the band had become a threesome, they saw lead singer Vince Neil sing for a band called Rock Candy. Vince first declined, but came around on the 1st of April.

The band soon after met their first manager, Allan Coffman. The band then released their first single, "Stick to Your Guns/Toast of the Town", which they released on Lethur Records. In November of 1981, they released their debut Too Fast for Love, which they self produced at Lethur Records, where it sold 20,000 copies. By then, Coffman had set up a tour of Canada, which later landed Motley a record deal with Elektra Records. Too Fast for Love was re-mixed and released yet again on August 20, 1982. After the band played the US Festival, and with the help of constant play on MTV which was fairly new at the time, the band finally found the success that they needed.

The band quickly rose to fame, but along with the high of the fame, came some of the lows, too. In 1984, Vince Neil was charged with a DUI and vehicular manslaughter, after he was involved in a head on collision and killed Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley. On December 23, 1987, Nikki Sixx was declared dead after a fatal heroin overdose. The medic in the ambulance was a Crue fan and revived Nikki by giving two shots of adrenaline to the heart. His two minutes of death inspired the song "Kickstart My Heart". After his short death, the band released Dr. Feelgood. After releasing the album, Nikki Sixx had kept journal entries from 1987 to 1988, which he later released in 2006 at The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rockstar.

Down On Me :)

Here’s a band that maybe you probably wouldn’t hear on the radio, but with the Sturgis Rally every year this band comes to serve the Full Throttle Saloon. Jackyl formed in Kennesaw, Georgia in 1990. Though they may not typically be a hair band, they’re still classified as such. Besides Jesse James Dupree being on every season of Full Throttle Saloon on TruTV, the band is best known for the song “The Lumberjack”.

The band released their self-titled album from Geffen Records and went platinum in 1992. In 1994, their second album Push Comes to Shove was released. That same year the band played at Woodstock ’94 in Saugerties, New York. Again in 1997, the band released another album. This one entitled Cut the Crap. The album featured Brian Johnson from AC/DC. In 2000, Jesse James Dupree recorded and released a solo album called Foot Fetish. Jackyl has also set two Guinness world records. The first in for playing 100 concerts in 50 days and another one for performing 21 concerts in a 24 hour period. Now-a-Days, you can see the guys on Full Throttle Saloon.

Pour Some Sugar On Me :)

Def Leppard formed in 1977 as a part of the British Heavy Metal movement. Continuing in 1979, the band had developed a following. The band consists of Joe Elliott, Rick Savage, Rick Allen, Phil Collen, and Vivian Campbell for the past twenty years. To date, this is the bands longest time with one line-up. The band became popular with commercial success anywhere between the early ‘80s and the early ‘90s.

Def Leppard released their debut album on March 14, 1980. On Through the Night made it to the top 15 in the UK, but many fans that they had captured up until this time weren’t as thrilled by the music because many thought the band was trying too hard to gain American fans.  By this time, the band had caught the attention of Robert John “Mutt” Lange, who also produced AC\DC and was married to Shania Twain for a lengthy amount of time. “Mutt” helped to set out to release the bands second album High ‘n’ Dry.

The band then moved to Dublin, Ireland in 1984 to write the Hysteria album. On New Year’s Eve of 1984, Rick Allen, the drummer, got into a car accident in the hills outside of where the band came from. The drummer’s corvette swerved off of the road and went through a wall. Rick Allen lost his arm.  Even though he was left with just his right arm, Allen continues to drum for Def Leppard using his legs to make up for the arm that he lost.
With the release of Hysteria, the band finally hit it big in the United States. In 1991, guitarist Steve Clark was found dead from an accidental mix of prescribed drugs and alcohol. January 8 was the twenty-first anniversary of his death.  In 2011, the band released a live album called Mirrorball. Def Leppard embarked on a summer tour. They actually played at the Buffalo Chip this summer. The band also announced that they will be touring with Poison during summer 2012.

Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone :)

Cinderella started as a band in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1983.The band was started by lead singer Tom Keifer and the bassist Eric Brittingham. Cinderella went through line-up changes throughout the next two years and finally got their big break in 1985. Jon Bon Jovi saw the band perform at the Empire Rock Club in Philadelphia and later got the boys signed the label that his band belonged to. The band emerged while the ‘80s and its hairband fiasco were already in full swing. Throughout most of the ‘80s they became widely popular thanks to a heavy MTV rotation. By the ‘90s, however, the band suffered many setbacks, and break-ups that would later jeopardize their place in the music industry.

Cinderella released their first studio album in 1986 called Night Songs and went on tour in 1986 with Poison. Both bands opened for a band called Loudness. Entering into 1987, the band embarked on arena tours opening up for such act such as, David Lee Roth, and Bon Jovi. They released their second album called Long Cold Winter. A tour with 254 shows kept the band busy over 14 months and included the Moscow Music Peace Festival playing alongside, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, and Skid Row.

Throughout the ‘90s, the band released two more albums, but just as predicted, the band slowly started disappearing. Mercury Records went on to drop the band in 1995 when the band went on hiatus. Starting again in the ‘00s the band began to tour, but with no new music. In 2006, the band toured with Poison in honor of both of their debut albums making it to the 20 anniversary mark. They were planning to tour in 2008 with Warrant, Lynch Mob, and Lynam, but in June, it was released that Tom Keifer had hemorrhaged his left vocal cord making it impossible to sing and time soon. In 2011, Cinderella went out on a 25 anniversary tour.
